Well suited

twitterblogeditThe Wee Folk Players (They’re a Stitch) have recently added a new cast member who will play the part of councilor to the leading man. To stay in character, she keeps up a grueling maintenance schedule of peroxide touch-ups and has reserved every size 2 crimson costume available. And the hair and makeup takes forever!

The costume dept. made special pumps because the boss prefers his girls to look lady-like.

There’s always some drama happening on and off the set and she’s learned to avoid upstaging the Tweety Bird star, like in this bathroom scene below.

An experienced improvisational actress, she’s making use of her natural talent for telling tall tales. She explains her method this way, “It’s really very simple. In theater, we create the illusion of truth. If we do it well, the audience suspends belief and enters our alternate reality. You have to stick with fantasy over fact, or the spell is broken.”

The down-filled blue collar suit was first introduced in Fireside Chat and the leading man is so attached to it that he wears it all the time, way into the wee hours of the morning.

The Wee Folk Players are busy writing and directing new episodes in the American Drama Series. To keep up with new posts, subscribe to this blog (top right column on the home page). 1. You have gotten her soooo perfectly!!!
Keep up the good work; you’re helping us to keep our sanity in this most trying time!
    Thank you!

  2. As usual, I love this! I think in the description you meant to say illusion, not allusion??

Another idea: Oh, what a tangled web we weave…

    With spicer and conway

  3. Happy Valentine’s Day to my favorite political commentator. You captured MS Conway’s face and wardrobe perfectly. THANK YOU, so much. You are as good as SNL.

    • I’m so glad that you are enjoying this new stuff. As for the dinner guest bit, I’m not so sure. As an introvert, my humor takes a long time to surface and art gives me that time.

  4. Oh, Salley, have you fastened your seat bel?. Now there is the intrigue surrounding the entire Kelly resignation and KellyAnne’s commercial for Ivanka. They give you more material than your flying sewing fingers can keep up. Thanks for your spot on political commentary.

    • Sorry, I’ve gotten my characters mixed up I should have written Flynn’s resignation. Good grief. I can’t keep up with what is going on with this Administration.

  5. I fell in love with your artistic ability. BUT, I don’t think that you are qualified to give your political opinion. Stick with your artistic gift. This new side of you is very unbecoming and disappointing.
    you have lost 3 fans.

    • Thank you for expressing yourself. The way I see it, everyone is qualified to have an opinion and mine is being communicated through my art. Please check in once in a while to see what I’m up to.

Though, the question of who is qualified to give political opinions has me thinking about a future piece…

      • We are a Republic and all citizens have the right to free speech, as long as it is without physical violence. I love the way you are speaking out and using your art to express your opinions. It would be a very sad day for America if someone could rule on what we are “qualified” to say.

      • Sally, Susan has paid you a back-handed compliment. Your talent has made her think about your opinions, and search for ways to disqualify you/them. Keep up the great work! Art reaches people in ways that other media cannot.

This also reminds me of a politician who complained that the Pope should stick to topics he is qualified on. He wanted the Holy See to confine himself to religion and avoid pontifications about Climate Change, since that required a background in science. Apparently, the politician was ignorant of the fact that Pope Francis has a Master’s Degree in Chemistry.

  6. The Wee Players are in rare form! This has got to be one of your best postings yet truly enjoyed it. And your Killian character is spot-on!

  7. You are awesome Salley! I love your posts. Truly “Laughter is the best medicine” for this situation.
    Thank you!!

  8. The only ‘error’ I see here is that the woman doesn’t actually have eyebrows… And you’ve dran her with eyebrows… Make it not quite look ‘right’.
Also, the doll needs more of a sneer on her face.. 😉
