Gates to somewhere

I took some photos of gates last week, while looking for shots in the fog. These first 2 aren’t so foggy, but they got me looking through my image files for other gates.

And this one is the entrance to my friends Kathy and Ray’s house.

I took the next 2 photos in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. These properties looked a bit too perfect for me.

  1. Love all of the photos but particularly the last two with such worn character. Gates are one of my favorite things to look at along with doors. Entry ways…always alluring. Your photos are fantastic!

  2. I’ve always loved gates as well! You’ve captured some beauties; my favorite is the one crafted from natural branches. What is it about a gate? It’s not as formal or formidable as a door and it’s small size makes you feel like it’s an entryway into something very special… Thanks for sharing!
