Book signing CANCELLED due to snow.
I’ll be up in the Boston area this friday, so the Danforth Museum asked if I’d like to come in for an hour to meet people and sign books. Everyone is invited to come to the museum in Framingham from 12 noon to 1:00 pm. My original illustrations from Pocketful of Posies are being exhibited an extra week, until Saturday, January 29th, so there’s more time to get to the show. I’d love to see some blog followers on friday!
Also, Pocketful of Posies was named an American Library Association Notable Children’s Book of 2010. The ALA committee writes,”Familiar and lesser known nursery rhymes, illustrated with superb needlework and appliqué, create a charming dollhouse of a book.” Thank you to all of the wonderful librarians around the country who have taken notice of my book!
Congratulations on a wonderful accomplishment, Salley!!!!
Yipee for the acknowledgement of this wonderful book! So wish we lived up closer to come to the exhibit and book signing!
I hope, I dream to see your wonderful work in France one day ………….! ! !
Darn, wish I was somewhere near there! I just got my book a few days ago from Amazon. It’s wonderful, I’m enjoying it so much, I hope my granddaughter loves it as much as I do!
Congratulations!! So well-deserved!
Lucky Boston….I would love to see this and attend the book signing. It’s rather a journey from the UK!! Many congratulations;your book is a real work of art.
Jane
If only I could make it!!!! I got my copy of the book last week hot off the press. I have shown it and The Hollyhock Wall to so many of my friends and family and your name is slowly making the rounds here in East TN! Please let me know if you ever make it out of the NE! Also, do you do the tatting I’ve seen in some of your illustrations? I’ve tried to teach myself how to do that an never been able to figure it out!
Congrats on the ALA recognition!
Thanks for showing my books around , Lynn. The tatting in my artwork was all made by my grandmother and her sisters. I’ve never learned and prefer to obsess over stitching instead!
I was fortunate to see the exhibit last Thursday – and also purchased a book. Saturday I sent an email with the description and link to the museum to friends, fabric artist friends, and the offices of the local New England Waldorf schools. Your framed boxes with the original fabric art are exquisite—and show far more relief. These have to be seen to be believed!
Pam, Thanks so much for spreading the word about the show. I just wish it were at the Danforth longer!
Have just read the book to my children – it is truly marvellous, congratulations!
