The Wee Folk Players (They’re a Stitch) continue their American Drama Series with a tale of international intrigue, featuring long term adversaries.
Using an existing stage set saved production time.
The Players’ newest cast member hardly needed any makeup, costuming or accent coaching to play his role convincingly. He stole the show, despite the maneuverings of the leading man.
New props were quickly painted for this pivotal scene. As you can imagine, the audience is on the edge of their seats in anticipation of future plot twists, which are in the process of being written.

They must be in a rustic dacha somewhere (with a Presidential seal, hmmm). Otherwise, almost everything would be marble and gold. They both seem to have a thing for gold plated fixtures.
The troupe had to make do with an existing set, but I see some gold paint and costume jewelry in the future.

So we spent decades winning the cold war, have spent years with good relations with the Russians. And now you want to poke fun at Trump because he may want to restore good relations with the Russians after the democrats seem to want a war with them. How stupid are you.

Oh Salley, you’re a “wicked” woman ( he he ) , but this series is BRILLIANT!! It is also ” chilling” to think about the future.
We have forgotten why Trump got elected.The voiceless, the poor, the disenfranchised have been ignored for a long time. It is happening here in Oz too. The gap between the wealthy and the poor is growing every year, and our immigrants are being “demonised”. Our politicians are whipping up fear, and that’s a way to control public opinion. I can see a huge debate will be had about the turbulent and potentially catastrophic times we may have to live through.
Keep creating. You bring beauty and energy to the world. How sad that all someone could do is comment stupidly. Keep speaking through your art. Our world needs it. Diverse views and freedom of expression make America beloved by so many who don’t have that right.
I do love your artwork! Keep at it. In spite of what some think, expressing one’s opinion is still legal. At least for the next few weeks.

I used to love your Wee art work but I do not like your wee opinions. Too bad you chose to divide your audience.
Thank you for letting me know how you feel Elaine. Recent events have forced the wee folk to leave the safety of home and explore the greater world. Their new adventure on this blog isn’t without its risks, but it shows great potential for growth. The not so docile fairies realize that they cannot be everything to everyone and are showing no signs of returning to the land of innocence. I encourage you to create your own wee world the way you want and imagine it. You have the ability to do that! You don’t have to pay attention to what I’m doing if it taints your experience.
I love your work but not so much the political aspect of it lately. In a time when our country needs to come together, I am dismayed you are continuing to help divide it. I realize that as an artist you are entitled to your opinion, but I am also surprised that as a business you would willingly choose to lose or upset half your audience/market, because you are. It’s just that the people who disagree with you will, for the most part, quietly go away.
Thank you for bringing up this issue, Jane. Yes, a small minority of my followers are upset with my new political satire and are choosing to not follow me in this new direction, some more quietly than others. On the other hand, I have had a surge of new fans who are encouraging me to go forth into uncharted waters. In this case, the artist in me won out over the pragmatic business part. I fully understood the implications when I took on this new series and accept that not everyone will support me. My decision seems to be paying off in many ways, not the least of which is a body of work that I am passionate about.
It would be truly wonderful if we came together as a country, but I do not think that a polarizing figure like Trump has the character qualities and wisdom to make that happen. In the meantime, the fairies are acting particularly feisty and are speaking out on behalf of a great number of distressed Americans who are searching for ways to cope.
I am always happy to see your posts and appreciate your take on current events. There is no returning to the land of innocence despite what your critics suggest. Your gentle humor and lovely creations are a balm.

Love that your Wee Folk Productions are set in a treasured dollhouse. As to what makes art an effective form of social commentary or political criticism? I found this quote at random: “Art has long been a forum for expressing opinions about the state of politics and society. Through caricature, satire, symbolism, and allegory, artists have commented both explicitly and subversively on everything from vanity and excess to corruption and greed, and poked fun at everyone from the anonymous masses to the privileged elite.
