“Then and Now” sampler

Since so many of you live too far away to see my exhibit at Falmouth Museums on the Green, I thought I’d put together a chronological slide show of the artwork on display. Because I know that you like closeups, the photos are all cropped images, with lots of details to see. The exhibit includes a sampling of pieces I’ve made from the years 1985 to 2014. The most recent effort is “Wee Gathering”, a collection of dolls featured in my upcoming how-to book, Felt Wee Folk – New Adventures: 120 Enchanting Dolls.

It would be wonderful to meet some of you at the museum this Saturday, July 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. there will be some time to chat and mingle and then I’ll give a visual presentation about my work at around 1:30 or 2:00 pm. There’s still time to see the show. The exhibit, “Salley Mavor: Expressions in Stitches, Then and Now” will be on display until August 16th. Falmouth Museums on the Green is located on the village green in Falmouth, Massachusetts and is open Tues. ~ Fri. 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Sat. 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and Monday 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The exhibit is free to the public.

    • Thank you so much for your interest in my work, Naomi. I would love to come to Toronto. All I need is an invitation to speak about or show my work from a venue or organization!

  1. Hi Sally,
I would love to come to your talk on Saturday but the traffic I experienced the other day was crazy, bumper to bumper with little to no parking. That was on Monday. I can’t imagine what Saturday will be like! Do you have any suggestions for parking?
We’ve been staying in Hyannis. I had no idea it was this crazy in cape cod!!!

    • Yes, the traffic can be a pain. That’s why I ride my bike, locally anyway. In my opinion, Hyannis is not a good example of what Cape Cod has to offer. If you can muster the courage to drive to Falmouth, a good place to park is in a lot just after the bike path on Depot Ave., which turns into Highfield Drive. From there, it’s a quarter mile walk to Museums on the Green. I hope you make it Penny!

  2. Thank you so much for the video pictures. I love seeing your beautiful work but living in the UK a never likely to be able to see it in person.

  3. Dear Sally,
I had hoped to drive over from Connecticut to meet you and hear your talk on Saturday, but, unfortunately, will not be able to make it. Thanks very much for the slide show.
I love Falmouth. When my son was young, we always vacationed there the third week in July. I miss the Falmouth, Woods Hole area.

    • Mary, I’m touched that you would even consider driving from CT. The show will be there for another month, so think about coming to Falmouth for old time’s sake!

  4. Just viewed the slideshow! Please consider making most of these images into cards; I’d love to have a collection of Salley Mavor art cards.
