Greetings on this News Years Day. I found a quote attributed to Buddha, “The trouble is, you think you have time.” I love how the words resonate differently with different people. For my husband, it says to stop futzing about and get going. For me, it points to the concept of now, at the present moment, and our whole misunderstanding of time as something to “have”.
While searching through my photographs for one I could use for the quote, I found several scenes that pictured paths and roadways pointing toward vanishing points. The theme seems appropriate as we head into 2015.

Happy New Year to you and yours. I have enjoyed your wonderful emails of your dolls and travels. You have a wonderful imagination which is truly a gift. A gift which I wish I had at times when I really needed one. Your pictures are wonderful. My husband and I travelled all around the world in our younger days. Now travel is a little harder on our bodies. We tend to just go and see our Daughter and family in Toronto and our Son and his wife in Atlanta Georgia. But we enjoyed our travels and we lived in Saudi Arabia for two years back in 1979/80/81. And travelling to near by countries from there on our time off. Great experiences and Memories. Great learning experiences for both our Son and daughter at the time. Now our daughter and husband are doing the same with their son and daughter travelling and experiencing the world. Great pictures! Canale du Midi reminds me a lot of some dutch landscapes! Time certainly is something we don’t own!!! But must admit that I often feel time-pressured… Sorry to have had to miss Bonnie’s party but our procession here on Main Street started at seven. In spite of cold quite a few people showed up and it was fun!! Some of them came over afterwards. Happy – as happy as possible – New Year to you and your family! Love, Maria (and Al)

Your pictures and guote for today are thought provoking. When I was younger, my 1st husband died in an accident. I’ve learned to live each day (fully) because I never know about tomorrow. Then in recent years I have focussed on living in the moment. Great peace. Your. pictures speak of peace on the journey. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Salley, I was first introduced to your art through the Needlearts magazine article published by EGA. I am so enchanted by your work! I understand to a small degree the skills involved in your pieces and you have inspired me in my own needlework. I had the good luck to be at a needlework workshop in Mesa Ariz in November so I was able to visit “Bebe Woods” and “Rabbitat” at the Chandler Art Center. It was so wonderful to get a chance to see them in person. Your art makes happy, there is so much joy in it. I follow your blog and I am looking forward to what this year will bring. Thank-you!

When I opened this email this morning the say about time struck me, I immediately thought about my favourite say about time, “we have all time in the world”, when I read it to my husband he said “not very encouraging”, so there you have two different points of view.
